Training Manager Kevin Smalley speaks to us about what an RTO or Registered Training Organisation actually is…

Transcript:

Registered training organisations or RTOs are just that they’re registered training providers by ASQA.

With some cases a state regulator to deliver vocational education and training and issue qualifications that are recognised nationally.

When it comes to choosing an RTO, it’s a good idea to ask questions that individuals are able to ascertain from the start whether this is the right organisation for me.

Also, it’s a good idea to ensure that the RTO has the facilities available to actually put in practice the things that they are learning and the trainers who are well qualified and bring real-world workplace experience.

When it comes to the delivery method, it’s a good idea to, and we encourage people to think about the face to face delivery method rather than just online in the face to face delivery method they’re getting personalised attention.

In short, we recognise that not all RTOs are the same and this is an important decision deciding which RTO to go with completely.

Of course, the best way to do that is to ask a couple of questions, by asking a couple of questions and having your questions answered. You’re able to decide whether this is the right provider for me.
